Power Places

After doing many readings and connecting with people on a deep soul level certain patterns start to arise. One of these patterns is that it seems our souls need to visit specific places on the Earth for regeneration or inspiration. In Shamanism they are called “power places.” These are locations that contain key frequencies for our soul to integrate, they resonate forward qualities of our personality or abilities that we need to acknowledge.

For you it may be the ocean, for another it may be the desert, or even tundra. To be honest, we may not particularly enjoy certain power spots we are drawn to, we find ourselves there because of the inner work that needs to be done by being engulfed in the energy.

Many times our power places are locations we love. They bring us a feeling of home even though we may have never actually lived there. These places are powerful because they hold space for us to relax and blossom into who we truly are.

It is not uncommon for us to have past life connections to these areas, a type of place where we once thrived, or felt a lot of love, will still echo to us in this life. Not unlike an old concert hall that still still buzzes with music long after it’s doors have closed. We will be drawn to these areas like a moth to a flame to re-ignite those feelings. To once again know what we knew then in this body, in this time.

In readings, more often then not, I get a glimpse as to why a certain a power place has such resonance and the power re-visiting it can bring. One client had a very peaceful and happy life in a little house on the sea. She lived there alone, wrote poems, and novels that were very successful. She had pain and struggle but the overall sentiment from that life was deep exploration, expression of her souls purpose to connect, and heal others through telling stories. In this current life she ,as a “city girl,” found herself drawn to purchasing a remote property on the ocean solely on a nagging feeling that it would help re-connect her to her heart and purpose. It was as though it was a sacred ritual. She was being drawn to re-trace her footsteps and re-create the environment that had brought her so much love and happiness in the past.

In this landscape there were positive triggers. Triggers that brought ease, comfort, healing, and creativity. This was a place her soul remembered and was leading her to in order to help facilitate balance during a time of loss, disconnection, and pain.

So, trust your heart as it pulls you to certain places. These places externally that represent exact internal shifts that you need at this time. Trust the coincidences that draw you to new familiar lands. There are keys and secrets waiting for you within the resonance of this Earth, ones you have left behind to eventually pick up again.

    Hi Gigi,

Thank you for sharing your wisdom! For the last 5 or 6 years I’ve felt a strong pull towards New Orleans. Being a student living in the Netherlands I could never afford a trip there so I still don’t know why I’m feeling this magnetism.

Do you think you can also long for a culture, more than the nature of a place? Or can your power place really be as specific as a city? As soon as I finish my master’s I will book a flight there to see what all the fuss is about. But for now I’m curious to hear what you think!

My heart and my soul call me out to Ireland. I know I am attracted to greenery. Deep green forests, grass,etc.. and so I can understand why I am in love with the Emerald Isle. I have never been but my heart yearns for a small house with great land near the Cliffs of Moher. Stone walls encasing my beautiful land and me attending to some animals. I have a strong calling to it and I wait for the day when I can go and be there. I wonder what might await me there.

This piece reminded me of the birth mark I have on my leg which, ever since I was little, ‘didn’t look like anything’. Years later (and a few ago), I visited and ended up staying some time on a small island off the coast of New Zealand. My birth mark looks like the outline of the island. It was a very powerful place for me where decisions I struggled with (without even knowing it, they were too close) shifted and people were amazed how differently I held myself upon returning. Some places are special like that. The people, the land, the history, language, all of it.

Beautiful as always. I see a Gigi Video coming in the future on this topic <3

Your thoughts welcomed – perhaps it is possible to have several power places? Growing up I felt drawn to a red colorful desert area. Now I believe that place is Sedona, though I have never been. Though I cannot swim and am terrified to fly over oceans, I feel a longing for somewhere in the Hawaiian Islands. I keep hearing Molokai and I am racking my brains trying to stop second guessing that notion. Nonetheless I see an Interesting mix of power places in my heart, dessert and ocean. I trust there is a deeper causal to my longings. I intend to keep learning. I want so much to understand my gifts. Thank you for your inspiration to do just that.

Lots of love & light from your friend in San Antonio 🙂

PS – If anyone is on the fence about booking a reading with Gigi – do it. Just do it! My session with Gigi is hands down one of the best gifts I have ever given myself. Be good to yourself. Best of blessings to you in your journey.

      Hi Alyssa!

Yes, you are so right, we have many power places. As you were writing this I actually got the inkling to tell you to look up lemuria ( or Mu ). I feel like there is a missing piece there. Perhaps research Lemuria and see if the information there rings a similar chord. The Hawaiian Islands contain residuals of the energy of Mu.

Thank You so much for the kind words! It was an absolute pleasure to connect!

      Much Love,

      Gigi
