The Mandela Effect

mandelaeffect
Hi Gigi,

hope you are well. Just today I heard about this phenomena called The Mandela Effect. It’s pretty interesting, and a real trip down the rabbit hole!

I would love to know your thoughts on this, which is basically the idea that we are experiencing different memories of world events. Apparently there are thousands of people who claim to remember the death of Nelson Mandela when he was in prison in the 80’s. This seems incredible to me, as I vividly remember watching his release from prison live on TV. It would be easy to discount a few people mis-remembering something, but when you look deeper at some of the other examples, such as the JFK assassination (How many people were in the car – I thought 4). There’s loads more stuff, from movie references, our position in the Milky Way, the Sun being brighter than people remember from a couple of decades ago. Like I said, rabbit hole!!! Could be conspiracy theory rubbish, but would love your take on this.

Thanks, and regards,
Carolyn

Hello Carolyn,

Thank You for this question! I have indeed heard of the Mandela effect and find it quite fascinating. When I first heard it I actually thought it was “Mandala effect” in reference to the circular psychedelic designs; I assumed the spreading sacred geometry in the mandalas was in reference to the shifting nature of time and consciousness. Eventually, after some research, and, ahem, being corrected, I was told that it actually refers to Nelson Mandela and how people have different memories of him and when we was released from jail, like you have mentioned. Upon researching I too was astounded with how many memories seem to conflict.

Many people write off serious observations of the Mandela effect as a case of people having a poor memory or an incredible imagination. Personally, I find it short sighted to invalidate peoples convictions as though they are less valuable than yours. Writing off people as crazy or less capable mentally than you because they have noticed something you haven’t is a dismissive attempt to maintain the status quo because challenging it is uncomfortable.

As you mentioned, there are many Mandela effects, my personal favourites are:

Curious George: In my reality he did have a tail, and I clearly remember him hanging upside down and stealing the man with the yellow hat’s hat.

Berenstain Bears: It was definitely the Berenstein Bears. I refuse to call it Berenstain. It’s not right. The end.

Forest Gump: I do remember the dialogue as “life is like a box of choc-o-lates” and I fully understand that Tom’s Alabama accent is thicker than a hot southern summer night, I stand by my observation.

The colour chartreuse: Chartreuse is a magenta-ish colour. It doesn’t even make sense to call it yellow-green. Bye.

If you haven’t heard of this or want to climb down the rabbit hole yourself check out this site.

What is happening with the Mandela effect? Well, I am sure there are individuals who think in quantum physics equations that are more capable than I to speak about it, however, it occurs to me that this is a physical manifestation of the nature of our reality and consciousness. The Mandela effect is a direct representation of the plasticity of our world due to the fact that all material manifestations are an extension of our ever changing consciousness. We are beginning to know now more than ever that our reality is not linear, it actually follows the rhythm of our own heart and mind. Inner resonance is what determines our perception and therefore our reality, we are not sharing the same external world, we are sharing a similar external world. There are common denominators such as, Nelson Mandela, the Bernstein Bears and New Zealand but how we perceive them will be based on the timeline we are in which is directly connected to how we think and feel.

To go deeper into this phenomenon we have to discuss the nature of timelines. Timelines are determined by our base frequency which is the collective vibration of our thoughts and emotions. Every thought we think and emotion we feel has a vibrational quality, these qualities resonate on a scale of scattered to coherent, imbalanced to harmonious, fear to love, dissonance to connectivity etc. There are many different ways to describe the scale that represents the quality of our consciousness and where we are on this scale determines the fabric of the timeline we move into. Further, at any moment we can shift our consciousness and therefore shift our timeline. To be precise, any shift in consciousness is also a shift in timelines. If we do this enough times we can begin to make serious changes in our lives, and when we begin to share our experience with others we can begin to see the evidence of this: different memories of the past.

It is important to keep in mind that as we shift timelines we not only create a new future to experience, we also create a different past. This can be difficult to understand as we are not used to thinking about something we have actually experienced changing before our eyes, but as we can see with the Mandela effect, this is exactly what happens. In fact, the only thing that is not a variable is the present moment. Our ‘now’, our present moment, is the only constant in our lives, it is the only state that has weight and influence. I have described this in depth in my article on healing trauma (if you are interested in knowing how this phenomena relates to healing personal wounds). It is imperative that we begin integrating the truth about the nature of our consciousness and time if we wish to realize our full potential. Our sense of security can no longer be rooted the external world, instead in must lie in our own hearts.

Perhaps one of the most powerful components in our experience of the Mandela effect is that we have the internet to discuss our experiences on such a grand scale. It is not that shifting timelines is new, it is that we can actually communicate in such a broad scale to validate our knowings. I can’t help but think that in the past people may have written off very real memories representing their actual time line because no one else shared it. Due to our interactions being limited to our communities or families we may have missed very real moments of  self-realization. It is safe to say that once these knowings are validated, we can integrate them and begin examining what this means about the nature of our consciousness.

I must say, I find it interesting (and creepy), to know that there are timelines that differ so much. I mean, we have some timelines where certain variables shifted so much that people died in one reality and not another. People died! Imagine what this means for us when it comes to the mundane opportunities we have to transcend in our day to day lives. What happens if we can crack a smile when we stub our toe? Or muster up some gratitude when we feel like the day is going to hell in a hand basket?  These small actions that affirm love can build a powerful momentum with the natural expansion of the universe compounding into major shifts. Let this be a testament to the fact that we create our reality. The fact that this strange shifting  that occurs is not disempowering or confusing, it is actually shoring up something that we have always known- that it is us who individually create our world.  We are the creators and physical reality bends to our will.

Wow that’s fascinating. I do have a very different memories from my parents on certain things from my childhood and early teenage life and I always thought something is wrong with me because of it… maybe not. lol I did move out of vicious circle my family live in and I do live separate life on the other side of the planet. I wonder If that is related somehow…

    Hi guys,

If you are interested in investigating this topic in more depth I suggest you read the chapter on time and space of The Ascension Papers Book 2. You can find it here: http://zingdad.com/publications/books/the-ascension-papers-book-2/7-chapter-1-3-time
You will find a quite interesting perspective on how our universe works and how parallel realities are created and what this is all about.

    Life truely is,but a dream.

    1. Sophie says:

I agree that life may be a dream. But I also agree with the many that say things like ” so much has been said, so little has been done. Some people think life is a dream, so they’re making matters worse” – Bob Marley. Hopefully, these 2 schools of perspectives that we are seeing re-emerge will remain open minded to each other and stay humble in the beautiful unknown.

I personally think life is like a game that you chos play in order to grow. Imagine someone playing a video game. The person sitting on a couch lives in one world with it’s own set of rules. The video game also has it’s set of rules (flying, crazy magi etc). While the rules in the video game are very different from real life, the video game WAS created in the real world and by the real world (real people using physics, programming, electricity etc). Legendary quantum physicist Jon Bell suggests something like this: (on video link, go to 28:35 – but watch the whole thing many times. This field is proving that distance is an illusion and that we are all one. There is nothing more spiritual than that.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFvJOZ51tmc

If life is a game we chose to play for growth and evolution, that may bring huge benefits like the disolvment of self pity and things like that. But I wonder if being in the perceptive of the person sitting on the couch with the joystick may also be counterproductive at times. Perhaps being in that perspective can take away from being fully immersed in the game – grounded – and forced to take it 100% seriously at all times.

For instance, we learned from a channeling that your soul can occupy two different people incarnated at the same time on earth (perhaps at different expressions of evolution?). When we asked more about it, we were told that knowing too much about this is distracting. To me this suggests that at least some players play better – with more grounded intensity – if they do not know everything that is going on behind the scenes. They are more effective being 100% in the game. Perhaps Bob Marley would never have donated so much money or driven social themes into his music if he felt life was just a dream – that injustices where a part of the game, and that changing that would be akin to making a challenging video game easier. Perhaps thinking this way is distracting. I really don’t know! Everyone probably has they own specific ideal balance point of these greater spiritual vs narrower real world perspectives – based on their life’s purpose. Perhaps we are but humble cells in God’s body learning about itself through continuous creation and observation and should just accept the diversity of thoughts, perspectives and goals. Variety is truly beautiful and impressive!

Sorry to be such a drag! I truly love this topic.

Sophie, thinking as deep as you do,and with the ability to share your thoughts as well as you do,is never a drag to me,and I’m sure, everyone reading this site. I am nothing but grateful for your insights, and welcome them. I have no doubt,Ms. Young had this sharing in mind,as the purpose of this, and her other sites. Through the sharing,is a way to the realization of our connected web of being.
I didnt intend for my comment to sound as flippant as it came out. Gigi’s profound thoughts, can leave me so stunned in thought,I speak to soon. I do get the analogy of life being a video game, however I feel much more connected, and have “lifted the vail”to many times,to not know It is all me,and me is we,and we are all together. To paraphrase smarter people than I.
I love your idea of us being the cells of God. Beautiful as truth can get. Thank you Sophie. It is a blessing and a miracle I can talk to you this way. Thank you,and thank you,Gigi.
        Sincerely,Terry

  7. Andre says:

I had a feeling this would happen a little over 1 year ago. I had an experience during meditation where I literally saw myself shift into another universe.
I was shown that this is how I would manifest the reality I’d been trying to manifest. I would just wake up one day, and realize that apparently things had been a certain way (the way I wanted them to be manifested) all along, and it happens so seamlessly that I don’t even know WHEN it happens. It appears to be a reality I had already been a part of.

For example, when I manifest the car I want, I would just wake up one day and it would be already in my garage, as if I’ve had it all along, instead of the car I have now.
It would be like waking up in a parallel timeline, that I apparently had been in all along, even though I personally had memories of an entirely different life.

So far I haven’t seen too many major differences that I know of, but the word “dilemma” has been one major shift that’s caught my attention.
I VIVIDLY remember my entire life that this word has always been spelled with an “n”, instead of two “m’s”. It changed from “dilemna”, to “dilemma”.
I have no idea how or when this happened, but apparently I am now living in a parallel timeline that’s just a little different than the one I was born in.

Thank you for your answer! I did help. I will check out that info.

I guess what the post-new agers are saying is that if all of us accepted that suffering happens to others because that person either created it on the soul or physical level, then the natural course of action would be to let that play out, as it is a process. I am sure this is helpful sometimes. But that way of thinking also prevents righteous anger towards innocent suffering from ever taking root, which is often what is needed to fuel movements where concrete action is achieved, such as civil or animal rights. These movements have brought about a lot of real change throughout history. Would they have ever formed if we thought in a new age way? It throws away the possibility of a victim being innocent is what I am saying (not that all victims are). I guess I see both points of views as valid.

    Love your work! Thanks

  9. Sophie Garner says:

    Hello Gigi,

I am a bit stuck in the middle between the conventional New Age paradigm that you talk about- in that we create our reality with our thoughts and emotions – and the backlash this notion has gotten by some post new-agers like Erin Janus who believe this is a dangerous notion to spread because it can make us all aloof to other’s suffering (no need to help others as they created their reality, or it’s their karma etc). Also, I have a hard time believing that a baby born into a horrible situation is creating it’s reality through the magnetism of thoughts and emotions in the womb. To be honest, I do not know what to think! Thanks

    1. gigi-young says:

      Hello Sophie,

In my experience this is not a religion or paradigm, this is the reality of our world and it comes down to physics- We are in control of our reality. These are the laws that govern us. No where in my understanding of universal law does it say that to take responsibility for your own thoughts and actions leads to lack of compassion. In fact, from my experience it leads to more compassion for others suffering because you are connecting with your heart, which taps you into deeper levels of connectivity.

Nassim Haramein and David Wilcock both go into sacred science extensively and looking into their work can help understand our relationship with universal law.

When it comes to children being born into terrible situations this does not suggest that they have negative thoughts, that is quite silly, clearly they are not even rooted enough to begin merging with reality in that way. To assume that children ‘manifest’ tragic illness’ or experiences from their present moment is a misunderstanding of karma and the soul. When children experience this type of pain it suggests a deeper pattern within their soul that is playing out rather then a mundane one. In other words is does not represent their relationship with the world but rather a karmic goal for the soul. Our lives are a mix of mundane creation based on our thoughts and feelings and precise karmic experiences the help us gain deeper understanding in this life.Tuning into your heart and intuition will help you determine the nature of what you are manifesting.

I hope that helps. Thank you for stopping by!

      Gigi

there are stories ,verses of many people who live simple in india ,they are 100 to 1000 year old
no publisher can hold the print of book, but in india we here is in our day to day life these stories has pass from the past till today about spiritual person, only reading a them and the small activity they have done has heal the infinite , if we are getting purity it means it has already been delivered by the source and we are here to receive it(we may manifest it in our own way) and we should not claim as it may be not in our own benefit, we should think
why does not we able to get delivered before and can we manifest a lot more at a glance now and observe in our coming future ,do we thought it before we had thought where was our thought and why we were not able to reach it, although we may have reach the thought but why it is delivered now. for that kriya is to be understand, i.e. what can be done, in the present creates the infinite scope and for that we have to find our true self, from where our thoughts are coming and to remain connected on it is call swarup(we at max) in the present, what the source is delivering to us and obey it, create our own potentials ,(it has to be find out from where the thoughts are coming)
In west “bible” is one of book i know , there are verse delivered by holy saint , actuality is nothing in the words but purity delivered through them will be always protecting the infinite and some how it reaches in some one mind to 1 time to another and the cycle continues.

take care of exotic temperament as it as already delivered, there r ways to control

Thank you so much for answering my question. This Mandela Effect is really mind-bending stuff, and I totally agree that today’s technology allowing us to share stories and memories is playing such a huge part. If only everyone was open-minded and accepting of others’ experiences, as this is a major realisation for us all! Fascinating stuff!

  12. Alex says:

More evidence that everyone’s truth in unique and based on your perspective. While there are certain universal laws that don’t change from person to person, truth does. This also vibes heavily with me when you say that the only secure place is within you, not outside of you.

This is also the basis of rick and morty which rocks.

      Hi Gigi!
Thanks for addressing this topic! I feel that this phenomenon may be one of the most important observations that we, as humans, have made in recent years. The widespread prevalence of this effect may do more for uplifting our collective consciousness than anything that has come before. The sheer number of people experiencing this, and it’s unprecedented reach into the mainstream, may well serve as a catalyst to propel us into an exciting new phase of “perceived” reality, and our personal ability to influence it.
So… this is HUGE. I’m elated, and I hope you are too! Please continue to look into it yourself, and keep your readers posted…
Lastly, thank you for the work you do. I have great respect for you, and your wisdom…
